N55 suddenly popping loudly on decel

Been running like this for well over a year. Suddenly today the decel burbles have included one or two VERY loud pops as loud as gunfire. It's really bad above 3000 RPM but doesn't really happen below 2000 RPM. Only code is 3106 catalytic converter below efficiency which is normal due to the Wagner catted DP that's installed.
