Do NOT go to "Euro Auto Spot" in Kearny Mesa.

They misdiagnosed my car 2x both time of course it cost me a ton of extra money that I shouldn't have had to pay.

I tried to deal with the owner once the 2nd misdiagnosis happened and he said he would "make it right" which for him I guess meant giving me a $100 discount on a bunch of service that didn't need to happen because the car left with the same issue it came in with. I didn't have time to troubleshoot or fix the car myself since it was around the thanksgiving holiday and we were scheduled to go out of town so I took the car to them because they guaranteed a fast turn around before the holiday.

A few months after that the valve cover gasket they installed on my car started leaking and he wouldn't honor a warranty because I was a month past his standard warranty period. He said it was because I wasn't a "regular customer", I guess paying him a couple thousand bucks doesn't qualify me as a good enough customer to have them honor their work. I said F it and just did the job myself with FCP Euro parts and I found that half the valve cover bolts weren't even tightened at all, I spun half of them off with just the socket.

The most frequent recommendation I hear amongst the local BMWCCA members is Independent Motorcars.

A friend (who is meticulous about his car) and I have both had good experiences with Dose in El Cajon, as well. They tackled my valve cover gasket, and quoted me a very reasonable quote for the oil pan gasket, though I ended up doing that one myself. I probably should have taken them up on their quote.

Thanks Guys. It's a start. Letting my daughter take my 328 to school. Want to have a good place to take it to just in case.
