Hello all, new guy here looking for some input.

I have a 2011 328i E93 with 100k miles. It has the 6L45 gm transmission.

Recently it kicked hard going into gear and popped a code of “safe mode” and went into limp mode.

I serviced the trans, new fluid, filter and pulled the mechatronics unit down and replace the two sets of seals above it.

Afterwards it ran great for that day howver it keeps going back into limp mode after it sits for a period of time (4+ hours). It loses the program!

When it’s programmed it runs great.

The common answe is to replace the mechatronics but is this really the answer.
