It was a dream car back in the days. And she aged very gracefully.

Yes it was a dream for many of us. If only BMW decided to bring it back as a modernized version (minus the current design language - as it were please) …

Porsche has done exactly that for generation after generation with the 911. BMW did that for years as well, but they lost the plot with the most recent generation of cars. They have shock value but not convinced they will age well.

While not a true successor and not as elegant as the E24, the E31 has aged nicely as well.

Unpopular opinion, but every time i saw these cars in person they looked like they are an old boat that's hogging. So I never liked them, they looked like crap.

Today?

I really like that finally tuners are able to bring them back to glory as intended with their full shark nose glory. So I only see them in great shape, so I totally get it. This is another great example. 3.0CSL of the era.

I like the ROW cars with small metal bumpers. Not often someone is able to pull off old man Bronzit color. Even in the E30 world Bronzit tends to be shunned.

In my early BMW years,...the late 70s, when reading stories on the 6-Series,...I always thought the model designation was what made this BMW. I mean,...how can you top,...B M W 635 C S i ? Such a classic!!!!

This and the E21 3er were my first BMW loves. Spent many hours wandering the BMW lot gazing in the windows of the E24 in particular trying to memorize every detail. I was only 16, so I was never brave enough to actually go to the dealer and ask to look at one or sit in it. I fell even more in love when it was Maddie Hayes car in Moonlighting.
