HiFi amp question / differences

Hi,
I've done a bunch of googling on this and seen a few notes about rear speaker pin outs, but I haven't found a clear answer:

Are there differences in the HiFi Amp among the E90/E91/E92/E93 HiFi systems. My E91 has an amp with a part # 9246185. I've looked at REALOEM and it shows that part #has been superseded by a number of other HIFI amps. When you look at REALOEM for E90s they show similar part #s with one digit different, ie: 9246184

The amps and connectors look 100% identical. The same amp design looks to have been used in the e84 and e82/e88.

Does anyone know why the E91 has a different part # than the E90 system? And if it is different, what is needed to use an E90 amp in the E91?

I got some water in from the taillight gasket and shorted my e91 amp. I ordered an e90 from Ebay. It was cheap and there weren't any U.S. local e91 pt#amps available.

thanks for any help
Edit: car is a 2011 LCI e91 with lear hifi amp Options S676 (HiFi Speaker System), S6FL USB/Audio Interface, S663 Radio BMW Professional

If your in the US the Hi Fi amps until 2009 where black anodized . The Hi Fi system was then discontinued for 1.5 years in the US .
When it came back they were Aluminum anodized.
This is and analog amp with not digital in's or outs . I don't think
here the pinnout changed at all at least I have never seen that it did
and the Technicpnp harness for aftermarkets amps .
They could have done internal eq's different not really sure if that is
done with the Head Unit or Amp.

Thanks, I appreciate the response. My research had already figured out that info, and learned the difference between the phillips, alpine and lear units. What I still don't get is why there are so many part #s for the lear unit and what the differences among them are. REALOEM shows compatibility for some of the part #s but not all. Looking at them physically, many (even ones not cross referenced) look identical. Others have different mounting geometry on the bottom. I would assume since its all analog, as long as the wire harness puts signals to the correct inputs, the amps should send the same outputs, but its odd.
