Installed koni yellows, how much of a difference will Pilot sports make?
Im off and running with my suspension refresh and installed koni yellows. The ride is still a little stiff but then again my tires are still run flat garbage and planning on replacing all 4 with michelin pilot sport 4 or 4s, have to research that. How much of a difference will the new Pilot sports make to my ride quality? Is it night and day? Im on AWD and my back left tire has been cupping and to be honest right now it looks like a half scalloped potato on the inner most tread section so im sure thats contributing to harsh ride. Getting a 4 wheel alignment done soon and and replacing the style 338 wheels at 27lbs a piece, for style 157s at close to 18 so I think that should help. Chime in if you have any experience, love getting feedback and giving when I can.

I think I have lost count how many times I have gone with go flats over run flats. Germane to your question:
Years ago I went with Pilot Sport 4 on my M Roadster over run flats that had age cracks in the side walls. I had low expectations for ride improvement on that car, and was pleasantly surprised at the improvement. The car is almost a go kart, but still has a reasonable ride. Also changed out stock shocks for B6s. I have owned and still owned several e9x's (e90, e91, e92). On these I have gone with B4s and Pilot A/S 4s. Especially with the Pilot A/S 4s, the change is transformative. The ride is night-and-day better than with the old run flats. In my opinion, no matter what, if you go to go flats over run flats, you will feel a major ride improvement. I like the Pilot Sports on my roadster and they do ride well, but I prefer the A/S 4s on cars I drive daily. |

Cant wait, ill def report back. Based on reviews I dont think you can go wrong with any of the pilot sports their so well received and praised by pretty much every one. Its very hard to create a product that pleases everyone, but it seems like they did it. I have to figure out if my 17 inch rim, current size of 225/45r 17 is the ideal tire size or is their a better size or I should slightly different profile of 17 that would be better. Thoughts? Thanks for the feedback...

I think I figured it out. I got to looking at them and they are missing bump stops on all 4 corners, and being that where I live I dont have many options in terms of shops that install them so I was forced to take it to a shop that specializes is lifting trucks, and truck suspensions so they were not real familiar with bmw suspension components and missed it so now im going to have to have it all taken off and bump stops added.
