"What the hell is that? It looks like something that was home-built in someone's garage."

Appears Cody may have discovered a valid flaw about towing. Will be interesting to see if there is any corporate response - I doubt it as there is little to no upside at this point and they wouldn't want to accidentally legitimize his side show. They'll wait for a lawsuit to burn any calories on defending design and capabilities, which is unlikely in the near-term. I suspect they're tied up with numerous smaller issues buyers are barking about. My money is on a quiet running change to that stress point over the next couple of model years.

Here's some value. An actual analysis (using physics) of the issue of the CT's frame dropping from some 4-feet or so onto the tow hitch...

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

More:
TL;DV... the video is comparing a stock RAM diesel truck against a stock Cybertruck in a professionally sanctioned sled pulling drag race. The video delves deep into how the sled pull works, how the sled works, and how the hitch connects. In short, the sled weighs 33,000 pounds, slides a weight forward sequenced to distance and ends up digging the front of the sled into the dirt track. Look how the chain pulls downward on the hitch of the CT. I'll not take the time to calculate the weight but I'm sure it far exceeds the CT's tongue weight capacity.

They never came through with the promised $39K Cybertruck, but maybe the $99K version will soon be $39K?

I've never seen a vehicle go so quickly from "hey, it's one of those ugly dumpster Teslas" to literally not a single person even looking at them anymore.
Went camping when they first came out. A guy pulled up in the group with one. No one person asked questions about it. Looked at it. Sat in it. The only attention it got was when four teenagers pointed and laughed at it. |
