If I manually move the crank to open and close valves do I need to put it back ?

I am cleaning my intake, and I removed the plugs and rotated the crank a few positions to open can close certain valves. I am assuming I don't need to put it back to where it was when I turned the engine off?

FYI I used seafoam and wire brush scrubbed everything really good, and it is a lot cleaner than when I started. Not walnut blasting clean, but it does good. I also used the top off of a hand pump soap dispenser to get most of the cleaner out then used shop rags and some air from the compressor.

Thanks

no. How many time it turns while engine is off with my transmission in 1st gear and my sloped driveway. no issue.

I did the cleaning not so long ago, never put it back, crank position sensor does the job.

Also did it with seafoam, brake cleaner, wire brush and a pick.
But Ive also use a cheap 40$ sand blasting gun with baking soda.
