Batman...

... best movie ever? Or over-hyped? I haven't seen it yet!

The vehicles look sick as hell though!

It WAS one of the best movies ever. Even if you don't like superhero movies, it's something everyone can enjoy.

Those records are based on a dollar value not an admission number. Movie is good, I saw it about a month ago.

HL did a FANTASTIC job, but I dont know if its Oscar worthy. Well, in the eyes of the Academy I mean.

from the reviews I am reading, he may get the nod. Remember how when ledger got the role, everybody said he will be nothing compared to nicholson. Those people seem to have disappeared now, cuz heath destroyed.

Anyway, point is, it was amazing. Records will always fall because of dollars being devalued, but it is nice not to see a family movie or spiderman as the record breaker, but the dark knight

LOL. One of my favorite scene is with the pencil. HL was awesome. As cruel as the Joker was... he had a point to make though. Go see it.

Amazing on IMAX. Worth the few extra dollars, IMO.

My favorite scene was the bank robbery. "What bus driver?"

That movie, top 5 movies of all time. HL did an UNBELIEVABLE performance. I saw it 2 days ago and want to see it again. If he doesnt get an oscar, I dont think they should give them away anymore. If anything, I'd like to say it was under-hyped.

I bet that the Joker costume will now become the #1 Halloween costume this year, and probably will replace Brandon Lee's Crow costume as the most popular/hot costume for guys...remember that episode of South Park where the devil decides to have a costume party for Halloween and dresses up as the crow and then throws a hissy fit when someone else has the same costume, lol...actually there are some similarities between Heath Ledger and Brandon Lee and these movies if you think about it...hmmm

Great movie, HL was fantastic, only had two minor annoyances for me (so minor not even worth detailing). I believe he went to the correct address and the Joker pulled the ol' switcheroo because he knew. I virtually agree with all the great things that have been said before...but something is missing from the accolades on this film.

I tend to think there has been a significant lull in the last decade in terms of impactful directors. The primary example that comes to mind is M. Night Shyamalan...started out great and has progressively ventured downhill. He was supposed to be the rising star that could, as a director and writer, make every movie a blockbuster that had to be seen.

So...shouldn't Christopher Nolan be getting a little more praise here? As the director and screenwriter (with brother Jonathan) of these things, isn't he a HUGE reason these are sooooooo good? And isn't he what M. Night is supposed to have been?

Following was a nice low budget feature film debut...Memento is one of my favorite movies of all time...Insomnia fell a little short for me but was his first attempt at a really big budget type of film and has gotten better on re-watches...Batman Begins was simply great...The Prestige was absolutely my favorite film of that year...and then The Dark Knight - crazy good.

With all these big name directors coming up short of expectations in recent years I just am amazed at the continued quality coming from the Nolan camp. At this point, I'll see anything he does and can only hope for another Batman (but please don't try to bring Robin into it).

^^^

I agree, Christopher Nolan has done an awesome job with the franchise. I think with Batman Begins it was clear he'd bring the franchise out of the mess that Joel Schumacher created, but there were still alot of people (including myself) who were very fond of Tim Burton's Batman. But with the Dark Knight, all doubt has been removed that this is the deepest portrayl of Batman yet, and arguably one of the best crime epics ever, and IMHO the best superhero movie to date, period. Christopher Nolan, and his brother Jonathan Nolan who helped write the script, deserve a lot of credit for this.

All that being said, HL did do an incredible job, and his performance at least deserves a nod. But the rest of the cast were also so strong. Everything in this movie came together perfectly, the acting, the cinematography, the score, the script.

Anyways, I saw it last night with my gf and I'm seeing it tomorrow with my buddies. A friend of mine said, the only bad thing about it, is that it ends.

I was also a bit sad to see the movie end...it was too much fun watching Heath Ledger run amuk...however I did not care for any of the other characters in the film, I was happy watching the Joker kill mobsters and blow up Gotham...

I wonder what kind of deleted scenes or out takes there will be when this comes out on DVD...I bet everyone will want to see any extra footage of Heath Ledger, I know I would.

Heath Ledger was one of, if not the best villains I've ever seen. I was really hoping for more on the ending of the Joker. However it seemed somewhat fitting.

All in all it was really good.

That was seriously the best movie ive ever seen.
Not my favorite, but still the best.
Even with minimal violence and almost no language, HL's embodiment of The Joker created a creepy and uncomfortable atmosphere almost everytime he was on screen.
In fact, he was so convincing in his role that you truely believe The Joker seemingly crawled out the bowles of hell, and was not just a villian with a back story who happened to be wearing clown make-up.
I sat through the entire movie just completely engrossed in what was going on, and was not once was i jolted from the world Nolan created by bad acting or a lull in the plot.

Damn, now i want to see it agian lol
