Direct Injection Cleaning Kits

Does anyone have experience with the cleaning kits that claim to help clean the intake valve area on our N54 engine?

Are you talking about the spray-on cleaner solvents? Or are you talking about walnut blasting. Either way, you are taking the fuel rails and the intake manifold off. This is not a "quick" job.

The spray-on solvent does dissolve the crud in the intakes, but you will still have to vacuum or suck the slurry out, and probably do some scraping with dental tools or similar. Its a mess, and uses lots of paper towels. Walnut blasting, if you have access to a compressor, is by far the cleanest, most thorough method, hands down.
