window trim help

the black window trim on my acura tl is getting old and looks like its scaling, and about to chip off. i never really took care of the cars finish, waxed it like once the entire time.

what can i do now? i feel i really need to slap some wax on their asap to protect it from the sun, would that help to prevent it from chipping at this stage you think?

thanks

I'm not absolutely sure, but I think that wax eats away at that rubber stuff. Dont forget that I said "I'm not sure".

I'm not sure what to use on black plastic trim. But don't use wax on plastic or rubber, it will make it turn white.

Wax doesn't harm trim, it just stains it. It can easily be remove. Try using dilluted APC with a toothbrush, a Mr. Clean magic eraser very softly, peanut butter, ect...

Check out detailcity.com and do a search for trim.
