Bluetooth Display Question. A Triangle?

Ok, I'm just full of questions today. So I get in my car and my phone pairs to the stereo. I start driving and notice that instead of the usual phone handset lcd the stereo is displaying a flashing triangle, like the hazard button. I check my phone it still dials and receives calls. Lastly, it wasn't related to signal reception. Anyone know what the hell this symbol means? I looked for it in the manual and of course, not there. Gimme some help folks, I could use it. Thanks.

If it's a small triangle on the bottom of the screen near the reception bars, it's a roaming indicator.

Interesting. Mine's on all the time in my home area, but not flashing, it's on solid. When I actually roam, it goes out.

Yeh, it happened to me this w/e when I was driving home from San Diego. Verizon has full coverage all over California and I was NOT roaming, but it gave me the Roaming Triangle (blinking) for about 45 minutes while in San Diego. Once I got to Orange County, it went away.

Interestingly, the PHONE itself did NOT have a roaming symbol on its screen. It was ONLY on the BMW screen.

My friend had this happen on his phone, called Verizon and was told to totally disregard the TRIANGLE because there is no roaming in the US under most Verizon plans.

So, that's what I know.

I have Verizon as well...you get the triangle when you are in a Extended Network area. This just means that you get services but Verizon does not own the towers or they are older towers that do not support some services (ie internet)

WHen I got the indicator it seemed it was telling me that I had a voice mail from a missed call. When I answered the call the symbol went away ????

DOes anyone know where these symbols are in the manuals ??

Old thread. FWIW, I've never seen the roaming triangle indicator, but that's what it is. For missed calls on iDrive, the icon is a little phone. Once you go to the "missed calls" page, it goes away.
