OEM+ mods for 335i mSport (n55)
Hello,
after 2 years owning my beloved 335i from 2012 it is now time to make an important decision, keep it and put some money and love into it or sell it... Taking into account it's done 114k miles, I am guessing its value is around 7 to 6k in the UK so not loads I gain from that... So I doubt I can get smth better than that for the money. I am more leaning to keeping it at least up until the 125k miles figure... so IF I keep it I was thinking of doing the following to take it to the next level, car is completely stock apart from vrsf catless dp which is not in atm but intend to put it back. NOTE: I DD this car and DON'T INTEND to track it. As I am very into vehicle dynamics, I cannot tolerate the look on my car rn, it looks higher at the front vs the rear. Had to replace the front shocks as they were leaking so replaced them with the normal Sachs oe ones + new top strut mounts. I intend to spend 1 to 1.5k GBP (1300 to 2000 usd) and DIY as much as I can: - B12 kit (just saw one in ebay for 750 gbp so not bad at all) - whiteline rear sub inserts - front m3 control arms - Then I would like to do brakes, aesthetically the oem ones are okay but would love some big brakes, I understand these come at a cost so maybe braided brake lines / fluid + some good pads is enough to improve the braking feel? If not, maybe I can get some second hand f30 front callipers and retrofit them but I dont know how performance orienteted is such change... - engine mods: - FMIC???? - charge pipe - intake - eldor coils + NGK step 1 spark plugs - (already have bought the stage2 from MHD) Anyway at the end of the day I just want to enjoy my car wo worrying too much about realibilty so big turbo is not in my plans. any advice is very welcome thanks!! Sounds like a good plan! IMO keep the stock bosch plugs, colder is not needed. Definitely FMIC and charge pipe. The stock intake is also pretty dang good for those power levels and much quieter unless you prefer the noise of an aftermarket one.
