Can we assume you do have discs in the changer and they are oriented correctly? Has it worked in the past? Are they audio discs or MP3 discs (if the latter, were they properly burned?)? If you put a store-bought audio disc into it does it play?

Hi thanks for reply. Yes the changer does have discs in it, I too thought it might be because some of them were copied but they worked fine before. The changer was working fine then suddenly started displaying no discs. Have reloaded discs, checked power cables in case they were loose. Only original discs being used. Changer seems to be ejecting etc but doesn't seem to flick to the side to read if there is a disc. I think all wires etc are connected ok behind the head unit as it is obviously still connecting to the changer to know that there are no discs? I've rambled haven't I!!!! sorry

Are you sure the disks are shiny side down, label side up and/or the cartridge is inserted the proper way? If so, I suspect you'll be taking a trip to your dealer.
Best of luck.

I would suspect the laser pick up is either dirty/dusty or it has become faulty. Try using a specialised cd lens cleaner which has fine brushes on the playing side just in case there is dust on the lens. If this does not work then its back to the manufacturer i'm afraid.

I had a similar problem and after trying different options I ended up taking it to the dealer. The electronics on this car are completely different than the E46. The fiber optic in the E90 is worth 12G, so before you try something that you are not sure about...Don't do it!!!
