how to make the lip of a rim like new?
My cousin is trying to recover the new look on the lip of his rims. He had it sitting in the garage for few months. It just doesnt have that shine anymore. He tried cleaning it and no luck. Shops wanted $1200 for a set of new lips (just the lips)…LOL
Any suggestions?

A couple things you can try. First:
Get a metal polich that is safe for chrome like Mothers, Nevr Dull, etc... Grab a terry cloth applicator (I normally don't recommend terry, but you want something with bite) and polish away. If it works you're golden. If not, grab a mothers powerball. It seems gimicky but I promise they work. I use one all the time on polished lips. Attach to drill, apply polish, use powerball as directed. If THAt doesn't work (it really should), you can wetsand the lip down and re-polish, however that's advanced stuff and really should be left to a pro. |
