Good starter track car ideas
Post 135 - That's a good sign right?
Anyway, I'm interested in doing track days and finding a good starter track car. I keep hearing miata, civic si, cobalt, etc. I want something a novice could use, have fun and won't break the bank. Any ideas? |

Miata, end of discussion. From a cost perspective there is nothing close; plus the SCCA allows Miatas (in various modifications) to run in a gazillion different classes.

Sounds like you are a novice and are just wanting to start doing HPDE's. If you have a 1 series, that fits that bill extremely well.
I would not recommend buying a dedicated track car to start. Track events are not races. If you are thinking about racing a track car, and you're a novice, you need many, many HPDEs under your belt and a club racing license. |
