30% is just right... Not too dark and not too light.

I think I have 30% front/back, which is illegal. It's common to do (I think) 20 front and 30 back, but I wanted it uniform. The dark tint looks good in the right light, but with SG it looks a little to monotone against the paint color in the wrong light. I'd prefer something with a bit more of a reflective surface. I will post pics later.

Here's all you need to know about tint: F1 Pinnacle, 35%. Search all the threads you want, it always comes down to that magic combination. Thank me later.

35% all around is a good balance, it's what I have now. I had 45% all around on my last car and think that enabled better visibility at night. If I were to do it again, I would probably go 45% or no tint at all. Tint looks great, but for pure visibility, nothing beats factory glass.

Don't tint the windshield. It's pleasant during the day, but substantially minimizes night vision. I had a tint guy talk me into that once. It looked great, and I didn't even have to wear sun glasses during the day, but it sucked big time at night. I ended up buying a clothes steamer and stripping it off. Windshield tint is a very bad idea.

Where in NJ are you? Make sure the cops in your neighborhood aren't pain in the ass.

I had to remove front tints for my IS300 and not even daring to get them done for my bimmer.

I think Llumar or whoever owns Llumar merged or bought out Formula One so they are under the same company even though they still sell their tints under their respective brand names. If i am correct, Formula One offers ceramic tints at 25% 35% etc.. while Llumar ceramic tints come at 30% 40% 50% etc.. So depending on what percentage you want, you can choose either one. Formula One is still more expensive I believe but the quality is similar between the two. I just got Llumar ceramic 40% on my car last week. No pics yet but I"ll try to get some pictures this week.

I have black interior so the dark interior also makes your tint look darker than it really is, esp during the evening and night. So that's another thing to factor in maybe.

FYI, there is no plural "tints." You can buy tint or have tint installed or tint your car or add tint, but you are not adding "tints" like you might add "tires." It would be like saying you ate "shrimps" for dinner.
