Update: 7" Headrest monitors installed. Finally!

Here's an update on my Headrest monitors. Finally had time to put it on. These are the universal PILLOW headrest monitors. Got it from ebay for $202. w/ shipping. PERFECT FIT! Even tilts like stock headrest. DVD player is in the glove box for now. Trying to find half din size player. Planning to put on the backseat armrest replacing the pop out cup holders. Simple and clean installation: Got the power from the cigarette lighter (behind the center console, below the rear vents) and used the AUX input for the audio. No way you can void the warranty. LMK what u guys think. NOW I'M HAVING A HARD TIME TAKING MY KIDS OUT OF THE CAR. Also got my BLACK LINE tail lights. Will post picture later. Also shown is my work truck that I just finished upgrading.

so was the wiring run straight through the seat or something? any chance of posting a DIY or more detailed pix of the install? I'm considering installing monitors into the stock headrests to avoid the color/material difference between the seats and the pre-installed universal headrests...

I like that DVD player! What brand is it? Do you have a hard time taking out the dvd's since it's so close the the hinge of the glove box? -a

The max. size you can put on your stock headrest is 5.6 screens. And it has to be really thin because it doesn't have enough enough space or clearance for it. If it's too thick it will hit the post and other small plastic parts inside. The monitors posted are great. Excellent quality. It seems darker than the actual seat because the leather is a little dry. But it is a good match.

Installation: The rear vents is one whole panel. You can take the whole thing apart by simply pulling it starting from the top side of the panel where the hinge of the center console meets. You'll see (2) red and brown wires on the left side. That powers up you cigarrete lighter. I just tapped on those wires and thats my power source. For audio, I bought a MP3/Ipod Y cables (one end has the male stereo plug to connect to your aux. and rca's on the other end for the DVD.)
The back panel is also used to store all of the RCA wires and fuses from the monitors. Wires was just tucked in the center console to go to the glove box for the dvd player. You might have to remove the 2 torx screws for the panel below glove box to run the wires thru and zip tie them for a cleaner look.

Later on I will drill a couple small hole on the empty space (between vent and ashtray) and put the input for Video 2. So I can hook up my son's PS2, Xbox or another Dvd player easily.

Installation is very easy. Running the wire (one wire only each seat) thru the seat is maybe the longest part of the whole thing. Trying to find the hole on the buttom of the seat to get the wires thru, but that's it. Maybe you'll get lucky and find it right away.
Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN%3AIT&rd=1

If you need more details on the installation let me know.

Just posted installation. I will post pictures later this week. Not sure if they have it in Beige on this exact headrest. The shape of this headrest is identical to the oem ones. Good luck. MAHALO / MABUHAY Check out ebay, they have a lot of different ones. http://search.ebay.com/search/search...rest+monitors+

whatever you do, PLEASE don't keep them on at night while driving and you're the only one in the car.

I think its so ghetto when people do that, and I see that all the time in Houston.
