Oil Level Low: What type of oil to use?
I need to add 1 quart to my 2008 335i, don't want to drive all the way to dealership for something like this.
One questions, what type of Oil? I am confused, the manual says something about "BMW Hi Performance Synthetic Oil" and then says "we recommend Castrol. Hmmm |

I just went to the dealers and asked for a top up oil. easiest way. I think it was mobil1 something other, I cant remember exactly.
They should have them ready to buy over the counter, not too expensive.

Failing that, BMW LL01 approved oils. These would be: Mobil 1 0W-40 (NOT 5W-30) Castrol Syntec 0W-30 (NOT 5W-30) |
