Its because everyone made fun of Hyundais for years. They have some really good models out especially the new coupe and sedan that they have. It comes with 100K mile warranty and now they are running that crazy program where you can walk away from a financed car if you loose your income within the first year. They are the only car company that is giving people something to be excited about in this economy. I say good for them and hopefully it will create healthy competition

I find it absolutely hysterical how the OP only pointed to BMW when those ads had other brands in there. It's also funny that when BMW makes those kind of ads they're true and funny but when other brands do, they're "hating."
People need to get off their high horses and just enjoy the humility sometimes. |

The name of the company is not even pronounced that way, "Hyundai like Sunday" my ass...... They just came up with this pronunciation in the US to confuse the buyers with "Honda". It's brilliant marketing and such, but no business ethics to speak of.

I find it amusing that every time someone compares any car to a BMW there will be a bunch of posts here about how much better the BMW is. A good deal of the time the posts are made by people who have never even seen the car in question let alone driven one.
I think the commercial was dead on. You can be sure that BMW, Mercedes, and Lexus are watching Hyundai very closely.

Saw one pullin up next to me, at first glance just saw the grill and assumed it was a Merc, but then looked again and it was the Genesis. Seems alright..I guess we'll see how it goes.

I was driving side by side to a Genesis (the V-8) in traffic a few days ago and had the opportunity to check it out for a while. It's nice and understated. You can tell they "adopted" a lot of styling cues from Lexus and MB, not so much from BMW. The car is sizable but not a boat like the 7L or S Class. All in all, not a bad package. I'd consider one if I was in the market for that segment.
