where to purchase tpms?

Got a great deal on a set of velocity 715s wheels and need tpms. dont wanna spend $200 on a set of oem sensors. The car is a lease and I just want to throw these wheels on and enjoy them until I have the car. Anyone know if I could find other sensors that arent so expensive??

Problem is that OEM sensors are the only ones that will work with your factory TPMS system. You could not use the sensors and drive with the warning light on though, or see how much a local tire shop would charge you to swap the sensors over from your stock wheels. I'm guessing that it will be quite pricey though.

I thought the ones from Tire Rack will work (they are the same as the OEM ones)?

I'm about to get my wheels and I was going to install the TPMS sensors I bought from Tire Rack. Are you saying this won't work and I have to use the ones that are in my stock RFT's? Thanks, in advance...

they're compatible... actually, they're the same as OEM, just directly from beru, the company that supplies bmw with their TPMS sensors, just sold direct to places like TR minus the markup.

+1 TireRack's Beru TPMS are the same.

they will work perfectly fine. We actually ask all our customers if they want OEM or don't mind the TR stuff and explain that they are all the same.

some insist on the OEM, because they are afraid that the dealerships will not cover them, otherwise. If so, we use BMW part numbers. BMW part numbers tend to be atleast a $100 more expensive than the TR ones.
