Problem with removing AC climate control to remove head unit
I am trying to get to the rear of the head unit to install a parrot hands free. To do this, I have to remove the a/c control panel, as described in a couple of posts I've read. I've had no success though.
If I try to prize it out from the top, the plastic surround that is separate from the controls pops out a little way but any further and it feels like it will snap! I can't get the actual controls to shift at all. Any ideas on a better way to remove it? It's the digital climate control with professional head unit... Thanks |

If your dash looks anything like the E93 I have the climate panel has to be levered out from the bottom as the top has a lip that is under the dash trim that is above it.
You are supposed to remove the dash strip that goes around the air vents, you can get the aircon panel out but not fit it back if you dont take the dash trim off. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=157820 see if this helps |

Thanks guys - did it in the end.
I got a smaller screwdriver down behind the plastic trim and levered out the metal part of the ac unit from behind & it eventually popped out. There's no way I could have done it with just a credit card like some other post suggest! |
