Horsepowerfreaks
Guys, the M3 turbo seems to be a right weapon.
Cant believe they can get 670bhp on stock internals. http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/part...s/E46_M3/11037 On there website a stage 2 turbo conversion gives 670bhp on 91 octane with alc. What does ALC stand for? Also do you know when this conversion was first released? 2004? or later i aint too sure.

I cant see where it lists what stage 2 has over stage one (parts wise) and 3 over stage 2.
Any help?

alcohol injection is what he's talking about.
Either denatured alcohol or methanol could be used in mix with water or themselves. 670bhp on stock internals is not impressive. That's high 500whp and it can be done on 4 cylinders. What people fail to understand it that how long the stock bottom lasts with that kind of power. Making power is easy, making reliable power is not.

Of course it will have reduced life, but not like drive full boost and it melts a piston.
ALC is alcohol injection then.

Stage 3 uses a 74mm turbo and stage 2 uses a relatively old precision 67mm turbo. Too expensive imo and they could select better modern turbos such as HTA88, HTA35r or even precision 6262 with billet compressor wheels.

That's exactly what could happen if you're pushing that much power on stock bottom end. One detonation and your rods could fly out of the hood.
