No dealer sells it in the US due to airbag legalities, however there is a set on ebay if you're willing to shell out that much.

Yeah, that's an idea...just not sure if the support will be the same as the BMW Performance ones. And yes, I heard that BMW developed these seats with Recaro; still...

but do the Recaros have side impact airbags like the BMW Performance ones do. and if not how hard is it to dissable the airbag sensors so it doesnt throw a light?

From what I have heard' the Performance Seats from BMW may also throw the airbag light for US specs cars. Keep in mind that; even though BMW Performance is based in the US; these seats are not US cars approved by BMW.
