Who's had their clutch replaced?

Who here has had their clutch replaced? How many miles were on the car? Any issues with the dealer that came up (tune, low miles, questioning about racing)?

I have 20k miles and I need to get my clutch replaced. Yes I drive very spirited

Ours blew in 11.5k. And I am not hard on the car. Less than 10 drag passes.

Well actually 21k, and I wouldn't say its blown. It definitely slips more than it should. If im cruising at 80 mph and I floor it, the revs jump up about 500 rpm without any acceleration, then fall back down and the car starts accelerating. I wonder if the fact I have over 250 drag strip passes could have something to do with it?

(If BMW is reading this, Im just joking. It is completely untrue.)

do you slowly slip the clutch when you drag or do you just drop it on launch?

On street tires I slowly let it out about 1/4 to start going and then progressively let it out faster, listening to for wheel spin. No wheel spin let it out faster, wheel spin ride it a little longer.

That sounds like mine. I was getting on the freeway tonight and punched it really hard in 3rd and on my shift to 4th at about 90 mph, there was no gear there, just neutural revs. I quickly pressed in the clutch, pulled the gear out of 4th, put it back in and released the clutch and still nothing. Then I just put it in 5th and everything was fine. When I got off the freeway and drove more civilized, the 4th gear worked fine every time. I think this happened once before too, but I just figured that I missed the gear or something. It sucked because I was really accellerating fast as hell and wanted to keep it going for just a bit before I brought it back down. I wonder if I'm starting to have clutch problems already? I hate having to put everything back together (stock) to take it to the dealer for stuff that isn't routine/scheduled maintenance.
