Anybody hiring Electrical Engineers?

Well, the company I'm at (a startup) is in deep doo doo, thanks to the economy and other factors. I will need to find another job soon. I am an experienced Electrical Design Engineer will a lot of skills including Firmware development. I have a BSEE from Cal Poly Pomona.

Basically, if anyone has any leads on jobs in Orange County, shoot me a PM and we'll talk.

Thanks

Hey, I have no problem with that. If you can get paid and I can get hired...that's a good win-win

I'll send you a PM with the resume.

BUMP

Well my last day is Friday. I have had a couple phone interviews, and still waiting to hear back from them.

Fortunately, especially since I got my tax return, I have a few months of my emergency savings I can utilize plus unemployment I can burn through. Crap I really hope I'm not out of work for more than a month or so though.

It is tough going right now. HR people are overwhelmed and unresponsive. I really try to not use the brute force approach and send out my resume to every company on Monster. That will get you no where. I read somewhere that only 5-10% of a companies workforce are found through online job search engines. Right now, I'm just trying to network where I can (this thread being an example) and sending my resume/cover letter to specific positions.

I honestly don't have a clue why I have not had many call backs (2 out of about 20 positions in the last month)...I mean, the positions I apply for are usually pretty close to exact fits for me. I make sure to state I meet the requirements EXACTLY in every cover letter. What gives?
