Blown away by derv power

Hard to admit, but, on my way to work in Stalybridge this morning, I was completely blown off the road by a Le Mans Blue 07 plate E90 335d.

Before I had even thought about dropping 3 gears to go round him and 2 trucks, he had already passed the lot, he pulled out sharpish and I though that was quick, but after 30 yards he went into warp drive and just vanished round the vehicles ahead as if being pulled by some giant bungee cord to oblivion.

I think it was chipped, as it really FLEW (been in a DMS 535d and this 335d looked quicker)

Can't live with that.......i'd best get down to DMS or Evolve when the new 335i is run in :-)

No I can't wait for the 335i! 4 weeks to go!

4 PMs of interest to date, but I can't really expect people to commit until I'm actually selling it.

It would be nice for it to go to a forum member :-)

Thats the thing with fast diesels - if you're in the wrong gear they will shoot off.

My Cayman is quicker than my 330d in a straight line, but only if I really cane it

when i was choosing my new car, looked long and hard at the boxter, but driving back to back on my normal motorway commute, the E93 was far more civilised, only to be expected with a metal roof, but what did suprise me a little was that the in gear, overtaking acceleration, just felt far better in the E93. Love that torque

Not thinking of cancelling the 335i for a 335d now mate ?

Seeing as you`ve "seen the light", so to speak ?

Apologies to anyone seeing a 335d going sideways near the BMW head quarters in Bracknell.

Amazing what happens when you plant your right foot and its a bit greasy out!

I had a little 'spat' with a local 58 reg. 335d this morning.

This bloke wasn't a 'driver' as such if you get my meaning (or not this morning anyhow) as he just pulled over and seemed happy to plod along despite the fact the road ahead was clear. I was in a lower gear anticipating him launching forwards as well lol, hey ho.

You thought wrong...the limiter isnt like 155 stop lol....some have a bit of slack and if you get it remapped you can have it delimited.

I went from 335d (e maps) to c55 amg to M6.

I think in gear until about 80 the 335d would be pretty close to the M6.

But if i really hammered to M6 the old deisel would run out of poof after about 30.

still the 335d is a brilliant everyday car and i miss it sometimes. especially when i comes to economy vs performance.

There`s too many "diesel warriors" on the road nowadays.

Squeezy, I don`t know how you manage with such little torque, or Carl`s mate Lewis.
