Questions for a E90 that has had paint work
My 2007 E90 was 'keyed' twice late last fall. Fortunately I found a good paint shop that specializes in work on Mercedes I believe. The damage was front left and then front right requiring painting the hood (twice), both doors, and fenders. The shop appears to have done a good job.
I put the car in storage due to the brutal winter here in the chicago area but plan on getting it back out in another four weeks. I have used Einsett Paint Polish, and Einsett Glanz wax a couple of times on this car in the past. I did use commercial washes also prior to the incidents. The body shop did 'seal' the new paint about a month after each repair. I am questioning what steps should I take as I get ready to take my car back out into the cruel world. Should I use a clay bar over the entire car including the newly painted areas? I like the Einsett products and still have the paint polish and wax. Should I use the Einsett extra swirl remover on the just those areas that have swirl marks, then the Einsett Paint Polish over the entire car, and then finish with the wax? Should I consider using other products? Sorry about the long post. I appreciate any advice you can provide! The color is crimson red, if that makes a difference.
