watch out for craters on the road!!!

I could not avoid going thru a crater on 495
going towards VA right before the American L. bridge.
Front and rear right wheels took the hit.

rear rim bended and cracked.

Ow that sucks.

I need exact details on where this is. Like which lane? It will not go over well if I need 4 more tires within a year.

I hit one on the on-ramp to 29s south from RT40W. One day it was there and the next patched. Thank god for road hazard.

Yeah this year the freezing water just took a huge dump on the roads. Hopefully they fix them good by the time the warm weather goes up.

when I 1st got mine it was several months before I even saw another 335 on the road.

Yep, a few months (maybe even a year) ago, i hit a pothole going <30mph on 395 (onramp) southbound... shredded my rft, bent my rim (although it looked straight). It cost $1200 to repair from BMW of towson (ugh)...

I tried to claim it through MD, and they said, too bad, tough luck. It was garbage.

Those tires looked pretty thin...what profile are you running? I imagine the rim took the brunt of the impact... either way that sucks. I hit a pothole about a month ago on norbek rd, had a small 'cosmetic' rip in the fat part of the sidewall... VOBs solution super glue it down and act like it never happened... wow so glad i don't use them anymore.

No apparent damage to the tires.
The cracked rear rim had an almost gone tire anyway.
The front is probably 50% gone so I'll keep that.

These guys went for the functional fix and did not care about cosmetics.
There is a big dab of welding stuff where the crack was.
Luckily, the damage was on the inside of the rim so it is well hidden.

Welding? Really? Doesnt that compromise the rim at all? Wouldnt it have been cheaper to buy a new rim?
