Help! My black weather-strips are being attacked!

Don't laugh

Has anyone else experienced the black rubber weather-strip edging around the front and rear windows being bitten at by birds? The little cut bites are quite bad and my wife’s Volvo has also been attacked.

I know this question sounds really weird, but the weather stripping is getting quite badly damaged!

And before you ask, I have not just watched the famous Alfred Hitchcock movie!
