In speaking with Harold @ HP Autowerks we will receive a discount at just 3 complete (chassis brace/front & rear sway bar) packages sold for each of the E90 & E92/93 lists. A further discount @ 5 confirmed buyers and so on and so forth. Did I mention shipping is included? We need to show HP Autowerks a genuine interest to warrant the package discount!!

Anyone who is performance minded, admittedly most of us are as owners of these cars, knows the importance of the suspension in handling the extra power of a tuned BMW. I happen to believe this is one of the more important modifications needed to complete the car on a performance level.

Hotchkis front Sport Sway Bars are reported to be 95% stiffer over stock @ the front and 105% stiffer over stock @ the rear. Here is the installation guide for front/rear sway bar RR on the E90/92/93 vehicles. PDF format ........
http://www.hotchkis.net/_uploaded_fi...485045file.pdf

Let's see if we can't generate enough interest here and get the discounted package! The total package purchased directly from Hotchkis is about $950 plus shipping & without any discounts. HP Autowerks online pricing is about $800 with shipping included. This GB will enable deeper discounts!
E90 owners will incur an additional cost for the Hotchkis Under Chassis Brace installation kit. The installation kit list price is $66.91.

What makes this better than the M3 sway bars? They are $75 less.

http://www.hpashop.com/product.sc?ca...3&productId=38

Now many labor hours for installation at a good shop?

I PM'd Harold for the answer to this question as he's probably better to answer than myself. On a side note ........ the car in your sig and mine are nearly identical.

I know! I remember you commenting on that in one of my photo threads!

Nice wheels! I almost when with M6 Reps, but chose the Bremmers in the end.

I'm def interested in this GB, but really need to know why these are more expensive, why it's $400 just for the brace, and what's the total labor time estimate for it all.

Thanks for putting this together!

OFFTOPIC ....
M6 reps are my beginner mod, in a sense. DPE S7 or S15 styles are becoming more and more tempting.

Have you seen the difference between the OEM brace and the Hotchkis? Huge. I saw the pics showing a side by side and will see if I can locate them and slip them in here .......

Yeah, with all these GB's going on for so many of the same types of products I thought it would be nice to grab some of that attention for the "real" performance mod ....... suspension.

Big difference! Still, it's just a piece of metal. Seems like they're pricing solely based on the customer base, but hey, if it really makes the car that much better, I'm in.

From what I have been able to gather; installation time will mainly focus on the rear bar install @ 2-3 hours. The front bar and chassis combined should be less than 1-1.5 hours. Don't forget the alignment cost as well!

In response to the question of the difference between the Hotchkis sway bars and the M3 sway bars ........ from Harold @ HP Autowerks:

Basically, the Hotchkis bar has much more roll stiffness than the M3 bars, so less body roll.

Here is the catch, if you were to use an aftermarket coil-over spring kit with very high rate springs, I would suggest using the M3 bars since roll stiffness is already handled by the spring rates and you don't need much more.

For 99% of the application out there, the Hotchkis will be fine. Especially someone who is looking for a flatter cornering vehicle.

In addition, the Hotchkis is tubular steel, so you are adding too much additional weight when compare to stock. UUC and H&R anti roll bar are very heavy since they are solid bars.

More info regarding the different manufacturers of sway bars and how they perform can be found in another discussion started by Mr. 5 found here:

The info on Harold's website is wrong. I believe Harold was thinking about the M3 bars when he was typing the Hotchkis bars.
http://www.hpashop.com/product.sc?productId=38
ToadHollow, I believe you copied from his site so your info is wrong as well.

The details on the Hotchki's bars are the following:

32mm tubular steel front
16mm tubular steel rear

The M3 bars are 26.5mm front and 20mm rear.
