JB+ Review

Hi Folks -

Just wanted to throw a JB+ review out there. So, let me get right to it: I can break the wheels loose in 3rd gear going 40 mph on the stock setting.

Holy $hit. Ok, now from the beginning:

1) Terry did a great job on support (does that sound surprising?);

2) Install takes about 5 minutes. Slightly concerned with the wires that lead into the female part of the TMAP on the car. Not a whole lot of gripping room so I am worried about pulling on the wires and making them loose. Over time, we shall see what happens. Its a little tough getting in there but the USB cable was a great idea. Plan on removing it before every service.

3) The unit itself is nice and simple. My only concern there is that the rubber grommet doesn’t fit perfectly into the unit. I don’t want any dust or dirt in the unit.

4) Day 1 was a little different than stock. Day 2 much more. Day 3+ and now its out of control. More than 0-60 power I am very happy and surprised with the 60-100 power, especially in 6th gear. Pulls very nice and hard. I have only done a couple of WOT's plan on doing more when the snow clears.

Pros:
Easy Install / Uninstall
Adjustable
Price
Support

Cons:
Gas Mileage - mine sucks now - but because I have been driving like a maniac
Case - concerned about long term opening and closing of case and the screws digging into the plastic.

Recommendations for a v2:
1) Make it so that there is 'pushable' screw or dial on the outside that you can engage the dial on the inside so opening/closing are not required;

2) A Map 0 or pass through setting so in combo w/ #1 then uninstall is never required.

Props to Terry, well done. Ill report back after I get some DCI's in there. Oh, yeah, FYI: 02/08 build.

Sorry, but there is no way that is true. I have mine maxed out and cant break loose in 2nd gear at 40, nevermind 3rd gear. Even a jb3 or procede equipped car doesnt have that much power

+1 Agree. Mine either, unless his tires are bald or the road is wet. The JB+ is a nice bump over stock, but it doesn't put down that much power.

for me at 75%, in D mode..smooth as stock....in DS mode...from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th..shifts a bit harder, kinda like it's speed shifting...per T it's normal due to the more partial throttle boost...
