Something like a "clearcoat" on the leather?
I just left the car at the auto cosmetic center for a inside/outside wash + leather cleaning (damn jeans!). The guy told me he did the same interior (coral red) a week ago on a 335i coupe (i have E93) with something like a clearcoat. His word was "spray". Told me it protects the leather so much that when it gets dirty, the dirt stays on the coat, not the leather. He quoted me like $600 for the entire interior, everything that has coral red on it included.
Is there such a thing?! ![]() Thanks!

+1 Probably Scotchguard. Which will help keep it clean and stain resistant, but its not worth $600.

He's out of his mind.
Almost all automotive leather has a plastic coating on it already; including yours. That's just how it's made. The best way to maintain it is the way they tell you in the manual - clean it often with warm water and a soft cloth. Condition it (if you like the smell) once or twice a year. The key is keeping it clean. As dirt embeds itself in the pores of the plastic it starts to crack. As far as I know there is no "teflon for leather". |
