E90 diagnostics and E90 service manuals

Hey everyone,

Is anyone using diagnostic software with their motors?

I am look for the absolute pi$$ easiest software and hardware setup there is (read as CHEAP) to do basic diagnostics, reading and resettign codes on my car etc. Perhaps looking at fuelling, revs, boost etc via USB on my laptop.

I noticed some well cheap OBD2 cables on ebay but have no idea if these will work, i remember my mapper dude had a box that he had plugged into his laptop between the obd2 cable and it.........so i was wondering.

And cheapo (or free) software that does what id want? Any recommendations? Bear in mind....i wont be remapping

Also. I am assuming that there is no chance of finding service manual pdf's lyign round the intarweb like there was for my civic, so i am asking.....anyone out there got something like this for the BM?

I found a BMW TIS thing but it was only for vehicles up to 2005 and i could not find any later.

This seems to be the kind of technical guides im looking for but im not sure....

If anyone knows anything about these or.......*ahem* where to source them i would be most grateful.

Thanks
Jinj

Garage List
If you have an iPod Touch or iPhone, then search the Apps Store for "REV". There is a free version called REV Lite so you can have a taste of what's possible.

Think the OBD interface will be about £150, I've not bought the WiFi OBD interface yet (seeing what others say about it first) but it looks the dogs danglies if it really works !

I saw that mate and downloaded it to my iphone......looks promising....

The wireless OBD harness is the bad bit though......a wee tad pricey
