Armrest removal

Does anybody know the process involved in removing the center armrest?

why take it out? But i think you need to remove the rear part of the console (In the back seatside) first.

check out the tvnav2go thread where he takes the console apart near the armrest that might help.

Once my 330i arrives, I'm replacing my stock armrest w/ the split design seen in the picture in my initial post.

I'll definitely check out that portion of the thread, although I don't recall whether took the rear of the console apart or not. Thanks!

*edit*

No, he didn't remove the armrest portion.

I ordered mine through Tischer BMW. Jason - in the Parts Dept. - is a cool dude. If you want the part number, or the www.realoem.com link, let me know.

There are also pictures of that armrest in an "armrest thread" on this forum.

Ok guys, I'm going to attempt this DIY on Saturday or Sunday. Any info on how to take apart the rear climate controls?

What's the difference between this split armrest and the regular one? It lets you open the right side for the tray, and the left for the cupholder separately?

It opens the exact same way, the only difference is that the driver's side can slide forward a few inches for additional elbow support and that the thing has more padding in general.
