I think I may have the HPFP problem!
Got this dreaded warning on my car today, "engine malfunction, reduced power".
I'm 99% sure it's my fuel pump My car has approximately 35,000 miles and I think my car was a June 2007 production model. I've babied the car since day one with no tune whatsoever, just exterior mods. I love this car, but I'm getting tired of bringing it to the dealer every now and then. So far I've taken it to the dealer for these problems: - faulty brake sensors (twice) - replaced wastegate actuators - replaced all rotors - replaced seatbealt assist - tailight and braklamp malfunction (3 times) - DRL malfuntion - re-align driver door hinge I just bought a bunch of mods that I was planning to install in the next 2 weeks: - Remus Quads - Mtech rear and side skirts - ST coilovers Right now, I'm contemplating if I still want to keep the car. Do you guys think I have a good chance of the getting the car bought back by BMW NA, although I've never brought it 3 times for the same problem, except for the tailights and brake lamps, which I think is a minor problem I really want the new I-drive and the full Mtech package

Does your car goto limp mode from idle to go.. Mine occurs downlow in the rpms and speed. For some reason my dealership will not replace my rattling wastegate.. I think its on the rear. It sounds like a wazoooo thing.. My rotors are completely shot and i have a appointment tommorow. Thanks and good luck' I would do a lemon on that car. Its cursed I think

This is the first time I got a limp mode on my car. I was doing probably 30 MPH, then the warning light came on and I felt a sudden loss of power. Once, I got home I turned off the car and restarted it and the warning never came back on. I'm not risking myself driving the car to the dealer on Monday, I'll probably have it towed to the dealer. It sucks that your dealer's giving you a hard time repairing your wastegate rattle. My dealer's been very good in handling all the issues I've had with the car. Good luck on getting your issues resolved.
