Alpina porn

Nearly finished - Alpina B3 Biturbo after being cleaned and waxed with Purple Haze. I've had a DMS remap to 378bhp/430lbft and removed the "biturbo" lettering (far too much chrome lettering on the back when it left the factory). Chose Black Sapphire with Saddle Brown Leather and Dark Poplar wood trim. Black Sapphire painted kidney grills are on the way, then I think I'm done - unless Tone gives me any more horsepower increasing tips...!

Thanks mate, shame about the weather as you say, but there's always next time. I'd like to have some more runs to see just how quick it can be...

Well done on that 13.5 in shit conditions though!

Its not as nice as yours and very much a marmite car, all will be revealed. Have you got an interior pics? would love to see the trim.

How do you find the gearbox? I found it to be much quicker than the 'normal' BMW box and smoother too

Looks great in the Black (Hard to keep nice in this weather thou) How do you find the traction with the remap I know when I had my B3 Alpina's 360 bhp was hard to grip in anything but ideal conditions so with the extra bhp I would think a LSD is needed even more

I will try to take some good interior pics soon - my camera's not that great, but will see what I can do! You're right, the gearbox software is Alpina written (although the actual box is from the 335i), is quicker to react than the standard box, has smoother, quicker changes, and allows down changes at high revs. V. happy with it.

Thanks, I haven't noticed much difference in traction (or lack of it) since the remap, although the increases weren't that huge. There's always going to be a problem applying that much power I suppose, so roll on the summer. The LSD would really improve things I think, although its a lot of money to justify, and I rarely use the car on the limit.

It's based very much on the 335i engine but with about a third alpina parts, a third bmw parts and a third of it from third party suppliers. Mine had 358bhp and 385lb/ft stock.

Lovely car Lee as I said at the 'Pod
Oh, and yes, there are more horsepower increasing mods you can do - how far do you want to go?!

I notice you don't have the Alpina striping down the sides of the car. Is this a customer delete option?

Yeah, the stripes (in silver or gold) are a free option - personally i think they look pretty awful so didn't bother, although a lot of people like that retro alpina look. I noticed that in this months "Evo" magazine, they've bought a D3 in black sapphire and had the stipes put on..
