2G iphone cradle 84.10.9.182.792 $80 (Non 6NF version)

Installation takes a couple of minutes.

I imagine the 3G iphone has it's own cradle? Or would this work?

Yes, the 3G iphone has its own cradle. You can use this cradle with the 3G iphone, but it is a very tight fit.

The base plate however is compatible with the 3G cradle.
