Stalling / idling problem
Hi. I have a 2006 automatic 325i.
Driving home from the outlaws yesterday and the car began to feel lumpy and juddered a lot. When i stopped, it stalled and the engine light appeared. It started, drove then stalled. I had to do this a few miles until i was home. Ive done a search here and think it could be the fuel pump, however, the search results were not for my spec car. Is there anyone out there with any ideas? Should I drive it to the dealer, some 10 miles away as im a bit worried im gonna breakdown properly? Thanks in advance. |

Hi
Its sounds like one of the Ignition Coils, you have 6, I had one go in December when I had a 320i, I called the BMW Emergency Service. They turned up within about half an hour, he attached his laptop and replaced the ignition coil, job done, they were brilliant. |

Turned out to be the cam shaft sensor. What the hell are they for? Anyway got the fault reapired 2 days before the warranty ran out. How lucky was that.

I'm still waiting for one to be replaced that fail intermittently. Typically the stealerships got nada stock. How hard can it be? Given the rate Bosch ignition coils fail then this should be a stock item like any oil filter. That will be number 2 so far. I wonder how long the rest will last or the HPFP for that sake. The first time I had this problem I thought - here we go... HPFP... but sofar I'm only scratching off ignition coils. |
