Title changed: I did not get the 328i ECU update...
NOTICE!!!
This thread was started as I was about to get the ECU software update from Powerchip. In short, I did not get the software. However, others are still trying their best to get one soon. If you'd like to know about what happened to me, please read the following. I'd like to make sure I don't mislead anyone to believing that I have something done, since I have nothing to show you but a few words of apology. Thank you -Seung http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho....php?p=4015808 I just got a phone call from powerchip. Hopefully on Monday night, I will be able to post some dyno results. All 325/328 owners, we finally have someone that looks out for us.

In standard form, the 325i/Xi E90 3.0 produces 215 hp and 185 lb.-ft.
Powerchip has a range of chips to suit your car, which can increase it's power to between 223 hp and 227 hp, and it's torque to between 192 lb.-ft and 196 lb.-ft. _______________ I don't think that $640 would be worth the extra 8-12 hp I'd be getting.

Plus, they have 14 day money back guarantee policy. That's how I got the software first time, and this is my 2nd time purchasing it. To me, it's money well spent.

why are you referring to a post that YOU posted on another forum? It's not like that post adds anything to what you've stated here.

well, since I mostly post messages on bimmerfest.com, I posted my message there first. And since I thought i'd share what i have found with you all as well, i posted the link here as well.... i am not sure if that's considered as a crime
All i want to do is share some information I find good and useful to many of my fellow bimmer owners out there.

I didn't see the 328 mentioned. It doesn't seem like it's worth risking our warranties for a few more lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels. Plus, if was easy to get more power by adjusting the tuning without negative consequences, BMW would have done it. In the "old days", tuners could get more power by requiring premium fuel and advancing the timing. They could also remap the full throttle settings, which they might still be able to do. I put a Dinan chip in my 528 and it helped. But all models require premium fuel now. It's a whole different game for turbo models because they can increase the boost. |

I'll wait for the dyno. just tuning fuel/timing will net some gains, but I'm skeptical about 24+. And still, it doesn't seem like anyone has attempted altering the valvetronic yet.
