JB+ 1/8 Mile Drag Times
Well, I took my 335i down to the local drag strip yesterday for a benefit for the Relay for Life put on by our local police department. $10 for as many runs as you want with all proceeds going to the Relay for Life charity. The track is an 1/8 mile track, not a quarter. It was pretty fun, and police cars from the surrounding police departments also ran against each other. FYI, the Crown Vics ran around 10.4 on the 1/8, and the Dodge Chargers ran around 9.4.
My car is stock all but a BMS Dual Cone Intake and a JB+ turned up to about 85-90% with a solenoid bypass, and it is an automatic. I had between a quarter and half of a tank of 93 octane, and I'm also on the stock Run Flat Tires. Temps were around 64 degrees. Keep in mind that this was my first time to ever run any car down a track, so I'm sure my times could be improved. I was able to get 3 runs in with the following times. Run 1 60 ft- 2.067 1/8 mi time- 8.635 1/8 MPH- 83.67 Run 2 60 ft- 2.060 1/8 mi time- 8.699 1/8 MPH- 84.74 Run 3 60 ft- 2.098 1/8 mi time- 8.697 1/8 MPH- 85.50 Last edited by nick6753; 03-23-2009 at 08:07 AM.. |

Yeah, I don't know what the deal with the Sunfire was. He had bumpers removed, hood off, all of the dash and interior removed, and some sort of homemade looking intake that looked like something to refuel an aircraft in mid air sticking out of the top of the engine. He ran a 9.918. I also ran a new stock Pontiac G8. It ran a 9.425 at 78.5 mph, but didn't get pictures with it.

Yeah, it's short. 1/8 mile. There are better tracks around, but I mainly went out do support the Relay for Life. Can't go wrong helping out a cancer charity. It was all for fun anyways. Must be the camera angle. It was taken from a hill behind the track. The track is flat then goes uphill after the finish line.
