Letherette Wrapped Interior Trim Complete

I recently sent my trim to Richy at ******** Motorsport and it was a painless transaction between him and myself. The trim came back looking great and here are some pictures of the trim installed. The second post will have some of the trim right out of the box.

I think it looks great, tell me what you think... I get the black headliner installed in about 5 weeks.. Ill take some more pics of it when the car is cleaned tomorrow.. Im rushing around before I leave here and I just got back from germany on sunday... So clean car wasnt a priority... But to ship it the car needs to be free of all dirt so tomorrow it gets cleaned..

I also forgot to mention i had the base plate/gear identifier covered in preperation for the M5 knob i am installing as soon as i get back to jersey. BAM!

I know some members have had issues with Richy; however, he promised my trim would be back before I shipped my car on the 25th and he came through. I sent my trim from overseas on the 2nd of March and received the trim back today. So overall I am pleased with ******** Motorsport. The product also came with a 3 year warranty.

I don't like it. It doesn't really match the rest of the interior and it looks pretty amateur especially on the gear surround. Makes the interior look pretty cheap. Sorry dude.

It looks better in person even though i think it looks just as good in the pictures. the "color difference" (if thats what you are talking about) is because of how dirty my interior was and then i pulled the trim out of the box and installed it. Good thing is everyone is authorized to have their opinions.

Still think it looks great. Exactly what i wanted.

Its not the colour its the texture of the fabric. It doesn't match.

are you happy with creases around the gear gaitor? - It doesn't look like it fits properly.

Interesting idea but not my bag, the contrast in materials between the leather, wood etc is what gives the interior flavor.

i use a slr camera and it picks up all the shadows.. after installed everything fit perfectly. As for the tecture it is slightly different and its softer. but just like any other trim whether it be wood or aluminum it is slightly different and that is the accent of the car, i dont mind the difference because black, grey, wood or cf no matter how you look at it it is still trim...

im glad i got your honeest opinion though.. not every mod is for every person.

plane like a G5 just kidding... I purposely did all my mods plain. I wanted some stuff different but i wanted it to be simple.

Thats how I got a black on black car.... Simple, Easy, and it suits me.

The best part about owning a car, is that you can make it exactly what you want.

The best part about people not liking it, is that it will be a a while before I am no longer the only person that has an e90 with a complete leatherette trimmed interior.

nlakind,

I didnt have to deal with Richy in person so I cant compare my experience with yours; however, he came through as he promised. Sorry to hear your transaction with him went so poorly.

Thanks guys.... It was this or piano black trim.... and I feel I made the right choice. It never hurts to be original.

and to Andy M for the idea and having the first trim piece wrapped in the leatherette.

kudos on being original and not afraid of criticisms; not everyone is going to love your choice of mod. A lot of folks post here to 'seek opinions' but get all pissy when people voice their dislike for the mod.

Life is too short to worry about what everyone likes and dislikes. The one thing that does matter is that I like it.

Mixed reviews is good, that is what makes a car stand out... If someone likes it they may tell a friend to go check it out... If someone doesnt like it, they may go tell their friend to go look at it just to to show them how bad it looks..

Either way people are looking at my car.

Im not sure about a price change or if Richy or another vender can do it. but you can contact Richy at richy@********motorsport.com and see what he says. If it can be done im almost 99.9% sure it wont cost as much as any of the OEM BMW alternatives.

Yet again thanks for the interest guys
