depends, labor is a lot cheaper over there, or he can just be head over heels in love with his car.

That is one messy job you don't want to start. A lot of the wiring and modules will not be perfect fit. Even if it cost US$1/hr to do this job, you are still better off importing a 335. I mean where would you get the 335 engine? Its cheaper to sell your car and get a 335 if you want.

$100k for a fully loaded 335i in China, where a base chinese made 325i can be had for ~$50,000 USD i believe. You are in a really shitty position now, and you shouldn't have gotten the 325i to begin with if you are so power hungry.

Some sort of government tax on displacement right? I know in many countries they do that to control whats coming out, and try to keep a lid on fuel consumption and emmision rates. Believe it or not, it makes a difference. If they allow a free for all attitude like in the US, then China going to get hooked just like we are, and then we are all SOL. Anyway, you honestly do not need it. Even in the US, you don't need it. A 2.0 liter car is fine and you can go at illegal speeds just the same. But they let you buy a tank if you want one here. Literally; It is completely legal. Heck you can buy an F16 if you want one. Like Larry Ellison, Oracle CEO, he has F16 and Mig-29: Some country we have here.
My point is, some things we want are not needed and not good for the greater good, but we as humans just want more, just because we can. I understand how you feel. It sucks you can't have a 335.

I'm not sure which part of china he is from, but outside of hong kong and maybe taiwan (don't kill me for saying it's part of china) you don't see hardly any BMW's. Hong Kong though, if it's not a taxi cab, it's a super car. What is getting your car worked on like over there? Especially for a rarity like a BMW

BMW isnt rare in China, totally the opposite. go to the cities, you see them all over the place (and im not talking about Hong Kong or Taiwan). just a few examples like Shen Zhen, Beijing, Xia Men, shang Hai, etc.. you see bmws and Merc like you see civics here. Ferraris and Lambos arent even rarity. u be surprised.
they produce the 325 adn 525 in china now, so is the C and E class of Merc. buying powr is pretty crazy over there (and that's a few years back when i worked there.) |

it will probably be easier to boost the n52 that you have now, assuming you can find a fuel management solution. You wont get 400hp, but I think 300hp would be pretty easy to achieve with low boost and relatively little lag.
