Would Forge DVs help resolve lag w/ v32.x+ ?
Hey guys,
I just got reflashed to V32.2.2 in an attempt to fix the WG noise issue on my '07 (fix 'mostly' works, but symptoms are still evident - trying to work through the SIB process w/ my dealer & SA). With 32.2, there is a bit of lag while boost builds, noticeably between shifts & below 2500 RPM. While not desirable, it is not apocalyptic by any stretch - it feels as though some boost is available, but peak torque definitely is not (butt dyno). So, I got to thinking...it would be great to hold more boost b/w shifts (6MT). When I had my VW GTI 1.8T, the Forge DV 007 helped retain boost b/w shifts. Could this be a possible solution / mitigation to the boost loss/lag between shifts w/ 32.x? Can anyone w/ Forge DVs on an N54 and relevant software version comment?

i ask because i went from my original 27.x software and got upgraded to 29.2 with the dreaded lag.... hated 29.2 changed from 29.2 to 31.1 and the lag was a bit less. this week i was finally updated with 32.1 and TOLD THE DEALER TO DO THE OPTIONAL WASTEGATE RETROFIT (lagfix). my car is now back to 27.x in terms of no / less lag. i think if you got 32.2 and now have lag, perhaps your dealer did not know to do the OPTIONAL wastegate conversion / retrofit AFTER your 32.2 was installed. see the stickly lag thread for more details if you need to... warning, that thread is 180+ pages long now. btw, forge DVs will probably help u between shifts, but most probably will not help with lag though. my 2 cents

Thanks - I should've been more specific that I was thinking b/w shifts. I had pre-29.2 before and think I may have been leaking boost. Right now I am on 32.2.2 with crappy hardware that is [mostly] rattle-free when warm. Not ideal. But the lag is not as bad as I had heard w/ 29.2, so it's livable for the moment - if I get new HW, then I may go back to the optional "lag fix' pre-29.2 route...
