First test today at track jb3 map #7

Only one run and without a good launch. I do 0.1 better on the road. But any traction today at track (first day of the year).

You have my g-tech and slip time to compare. Only 1.82 on 60ft... 1.72-1.75 is my time...but today ???

car:

335xi , 6mt, jb3 1.22 map #7, AA exhaust, DCI, vp109

next time with better 60ft... I think 12.00-12.10 will be possible...11's not easy with XI.

12.272 on g-tech and 12.339 on slip. ( and 7.92 on both at 1/8) (last week between 12.08 to 12.15 each time on g-tech..but more cold temp by 15 degres...maybe is better to)

the mph is slower on g-tech (like each time)

And with 115.78 mph...close to 12 flat is possible.

A+

here a video of this runs...I sleep at start..lol

Are you running anything other than a tune? Great time.. I knew xi's would do well on 1/4's.

Good job - Are you saying that you were not able to get traction even though you have an awd XI?

Yes the 4 wheels spins..a poor 1.82 60ft...anyway today only one pass at track. And with good 60 ft, like 1.72...a close to 12 flat will be possible.

I wonder why that timeslip doesn't show your 60ft times.. is it just the track? And a 1.82 60ft time is something the RWD guys would give their left nut for to do that consistently. with non-DRs.

The track don't show the 60 ft. Because first day of the year... and I'm the first car on the track this year. The track was not completely prepared.

Next time...better 60 ft for sure.

good runs Bob. I too was at track yesterday (Kilcare in Ohio)and got a best of 12.3377. 60 ft times were in the 1.8s and traps were high 110s low 111s.

I think Map 7 is good, but honestly don't think it will take us to 11s. 12.1 or 12.2 maybe. The 60 ft times are limited here--I used to consistently get low 1.7s with JB2HH or JB2HHR. (and trapped 112-113 to). Map 7 doesn't seem to have the down low kick, and it also seems to taper off at the top end. Just my opinion though--we need a different Map from Terry and the burner-to get 11s.

Mods: JB3 1.2 (map 7), UR catless DPs, BMS filter, Code 3 FMIC, Borla Catbacks, 110 octane. (sorry for the poor pic quality-cell phone pic. Better Camera pic to be posted on Dragtimes)

Hi Mike

Good run too. Very close time.

But on the street last week...have you see my 60ft ? 1.72-1.78, with same map...#7. With same 60ft,1.72, I think 12.15 is very possible for sure. You win 0.1 on 60ft...you win 0.2 at 1/4
But yes for 11's we need another map with more low end torque.

The fight for the XI's record begin

***And I think with more cold air, the car push very hard, my best last week at 32-34 and yesterday at track around 60-63.***

And next week I will go at track after 7h p.m. the temp will be around 35...maybe a best time...to be continued...

My opinion

My runs yesterday on Map8 was plenty strong at the top end, but I didn't have the supporting mods. With DPs and Intercooler - I'm confident that would take us into the <12s.

I'm what you call a 'slim' guy (which means the inverse) - so a 170lb individual should be able to shave .2-.3 seconds off my 12.53s time easily to be in the realm where you guys are at now.

So true. My first time I got caught up on the tree and wasn't focused on the launch. Next time I'd look to focus just on the RPMs and brake torqueing for a solid launch.
