How to remove water spots?
What is the best way to get off all those nasty stubborn water spots from my jet black paint? This topic has been here before and I did search but was not able to find a really good way. Or maybe I'm just too lazy to read all the topics. Anyway, do I need to use clay bar or is there any better way to get the surface look good?

Nikki, yes I thought that they would come off with wax and I was a bit surprised when they didn't. |

I get all my clay from online sources. Not sure if they deliver outside the US. http://www.bettercarcare.com/son-3200-2.html http://www.autogeek.net/piulpoclfcoi.html http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/...duct_Code=Z-18 |

Cool, I'm going to be in the States next month, do you know if they sell this at wall-mart, target, or any autopart store? Do you rub this "clay bar" all over the car?

I used Mother's Quik Detailer. I think any QD would work. The key was using a MicroFiber towel.
I had spat on my car and rubbed it, and that worked, so I figured a MF towel and a QD would do the same thing and they did. Obviously, try it in an inconspicuous spot at first. I had more trouble with the windows. That took a LOT more elbow grease and windshield wiper fluid with a regular towel. The spots aren't completely gone, but they're barely noticable any more.

I have a spray bottle and mist on the 50:50 vinegar:water mix and for stubborn stains I let it sit for a bit - them MF off. It may take a couple of attempts. I find usually a whole panel has them and the mister covers a lot of area or you can localize it to just the affected area too with a directed spritz.
As previously mentioned, this will remove your sealant/wax so you need to reapply your LSP. |
