Do standard 16" hurt handeling?...

Does it get much better with 17" or 18", or does a car with 16" give what you would expect from a bmw in terms of handeling?

FWIW, I am looking forward to my 1st BMW having 16" rims, and consciously chose not to get the Sport package or larger rims, based on the firmness of the ride that results. Yes, it will handle better (and look better) and also, Yes, you'll feel crappy roads a lot more too. Perfectly smooth track, etc, no doubt the handling rocks with bigger rims and nice tires, but I got bigger rims on my last car and regretted the decrease in ride quality. My BMW is not going to be raced, it's a commuter vehicle, and ride smoothness to me was more important.
