ok so i got the BT tool and its pretty cool. very easy to use. i installed the software and connected the cables. runs smoothly and thank god i didn't get ANY fault codes. I have JB3 1.22 with dual cones and sprint booster. no other mods yet.

then i looked around the software and there is just a lot of technical stuff which, of course, i don't understand. I bet that i am not the only one here. there is really no explanation as to what each button does and i am afraid to press on anything other than the radio buttons to change radio stations (which by the way didn't do anything). there are buttons to open your windows and that didnt do anything either.

what happens if you click on any of the buttons that say "ECU reset"? i have JB3 1.22 on the car, is that going to reset all the adaptations? who knows.

So now that i spent $300 and i found out i have NO codes thrown, now what do i do with this thing. Just check my car periodically? I know this is a great tool for tuners, but can any of us regular "non-technical" folk do anything cool with this? I wish there was an explanation as to what each button does so that we can all learn what things to check for and which buttons NOT to mess with.

Can any experts out there make a little quick "manual for dummies"? Like press this but not that, or look at this value and not that? or make a value reference like keep temperature b/w -100 and +100?

For those of us technical newbies out there this is a very useful/useless tool if you know what i mean.

+1000 thats EXACTLY why i don't want to buy one for me.. all i'd be able to do would be to clear codes and i wouldn't mess with all that stuff that i didn't know about.. i would def buy one if i could actually USE it..

You can do data logging, code scanning/clearing, reseting service intervals and a lot more. Its a great tool to have at your disposal, but in all honesty it is not something you will be using on a daily basis. Its a tool, and when you need it you will be glad you have it.

Actually the datalogging is a super neat feature which allows you to better understand a lot of the engine prameters and how your car reacts/runs under certain conditions.

Yes, but with a JB3 or any other piggyback, some of those values would be inaccurate.
