As mentioned on a differnt thread I was at Evolve today and saw this car on the dyno. Outside of the obvious crazy power shown on the graph, the noise this car makes is earth shattering - sounds like an American Muscle V8.
Lovely car, even better sound !!!! |

Excellent results there biscuits
How does it feel on the road? Does the 0-60 feel quicker or is mid-range punchier? Just curious as to where you feel it has improved the car the most? |

Funningly enough Paul, I commented to t'other half about the power gain for a N/A petrol engine. I'm defo. no expert but know enough to appreciate it is quite a 'jump'.
Glad you're pleased with it. |

Would i also be right in thinking that you have gained about 6bhp with just the exhaust??

Right... what I originally posted was a graph that showed a pretty unrealisic, but awsome bhp gain due to a remap (on a NA car).
I spent a long time chatting with Sal and Imran discussing how a lot of people claim "hidden 20bhp on M3, M5 & M6's that can be unlocked with a remap", claims that could aparently be proven with dyno charts. What Sal did is run my car in 3rd gear and then again in 4th gear. I'm not even going to try and atempt to explain this, as I simply don't know the technicalities, but in simpleton terms, the ECU mapping works using engine loading, not simply on fuel and air mixture ratios, so if you can load up a car really heavily (like on a dyno can, more than you can on the road). So if using the same dyno, you pull tricks like using 4th gear instead of 3rd gear, unhook the Intake Temp probe after the first run and stick it near the radiator, and so on, you can get some big gains SHOWN. Here is the answer: So... after yesterdays runs, the exhaust has put a few horses on and the remap needs to settle-in (adapt) before we can see the full gain. I'm popping in again next week to do another run to find out the full extent of the remap. Oh... just incase anyone out there who thinks running standard unleaded (95) is okay and that VPower is a waste of money... on an M3 it make a big difference, it varies but about 20bhp !!! Every E9x M3 they have had that was underperforming was on 95RON, all the ones showing book figures were using VPower Last edited by biscuits; 04-03-2009 at 07:37 AM.. Reason: poor grammar ! |

Paul - there was nothing showing under your quote "here is the answer??"
I always use Shell V Power - so thats a plus!! Can you just answer my previous post about the feel of the car etc. Ta!!
