DTC/DSC

I'm due to have a laser 4 wheel alignment (KDS) carried out by my local indie, do I need to have the DTC/DSC reset?

If so is this a dealer job?

I've never heard of that one. I don't think so.

£10 to check alignment....then up to £60 depending on amount of adjustment required.

After installing the rear BMW performance brakes the ABS needs to be reset and this is part of the DSC according to BMW. I'd be interested to know how much the $tealer charges for this?

If the dealer is installing the Performance Brake Kit, then they don't charge for the reprogramming of the DSC system. The ABS circuity itself isn't changed, just the DSC parameters for brake balance and rear wheel control. However, the difference is minor and isn't actually necessary. I am running AP Racing brakes all the way round, and haven't needed to touch the DSC system at all. Same with a lot of other people I know using the same, or similar, systems.

But certainly, there is NO need to do anything to the DSC system after a 4-wheel alignment...
